Janne Nummela

Janne Nummela was born in 1973 in Oitti, Hausjärvi, and still resides there, although his day job is working as a patent officer in Helsinki. Nummela studied acoustics at the Helsinki University of Technology and computer-assisted composition at the Sibelius Academy. He has published four books of poetry, Lyhyellä matkalla ohuesti jäätyneen meren yli (poEsia 2006), frigiditalvi (ntamo 2008), Medusareaktorit (ntamo 2009) and together with Tommi Nuopponen and Jukka Viikilä the poetic encyclopedia Ensyklopedia (Poesia 2011). Mahdollisen kirjallisuuden seura (The Society for Possible Literature) awarded Ensyklopedia as the best prose work in 2011.
