The Icelandic poet, novelist, playwright and translator Sigurður Pálsson has worked as a professor and cinema producer. His poetry has been translated into ten languages. He is also the author of three acclaimed novels and a book of memoirs.
He has produced award-winning features and directed TV films and several theatre plays. He has translated 22 titles from French into Icelandic and two plays by Arthur Miller. Pálsson received the Icelandic Literature Award in 2007 and was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1990 by the French Government. In 2007 he was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
